Full course description

The USF Middle School CyberCamp will give campers (grades 6 - 8) the opportunity to explore basic to intermediate cybersecurity concepts through interactive virtual experiences. Activities will be differentiated to match each individual campers' need. The curriculum, designed and curated by educators from the Florida Center for Instructional Technology, will provide campers the opportuntiy to learn through a series of fun and immersive challenges both at and away from the computer. Lessons throughout the week focus on various cybersecurity concepts including cryptography, web exploration, forensics, and social engineering interwoven with basic internet safety and ethics. 

Due to University of South Florida’s regulations regarding COVID-19, the USF Middle School CyberCamp will be held completely online. To enroll, students need a computer and an internet connection. Please see specific information below:

Scholarships Available!

Scholarship Applications will be accepted until April 30th, 2021. Please note, the scholarship applications will be evaluated as they are received and the application may close earlier if all available scholarships are awarded. If you are applying for a scholarship, please do not pay for camp registration prior to recieving a scholarship decision and code. We are unable to issue refunds after camp registration has been processed.

Format: Virtual, synchronous

Recommended Grades: 6th - 8th grade

Dates: July 19th, 2021 - July 23rd, 2021

Times: 9am - 4pm EST with breaks throughout, including an hour for lunch

Requirements: Computer and internet connection.
